Joint Statement: Enabling measures that allow for the diverse energy needs of rural consumers

Rural, mountainous and remote areas should have access to affordable and cleaner heating solutions that match their needs. However, the ongoing negotiations on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and the revision of the Ecodesign Requirements for Space Heaters could potentially jeopardise access of these communities to cost-effective and clean heating.

Liquid Gas industry co-signed a statement that outlines why technology neutrality is particularly important for rural, remote mountainous and outermost regions, where electrification of heating will not be as easy or possible as in cities.
